This Arts and Crafts family home is situated in Surrey. The lady who bought it was going through a divorce at the time and was keen to put her own unique spin on this property; after living there with her former husband. This project was much more than a design scheme – it was a rediscovery of herself and her personal style.

 

The budget didn’t allow for a new kitchen, so the orange wood units were painted grey to give it a modern look. Then a stripe of fuchsia pink added her stamp to the kitchen and gave the look of a colourful AGA; to break up the neutral scheme.

 

The curtains and carpets had to remain, so we looked for ways to change the overall feel of the rooms by using wallpapers and art that incorporating those colours, whilst added adding individuality and personality. We were also mindful that the property would go on the market in the future, so we had to keep the bones of the design scheme neutral, and that meant adding colour with accessories and art.
