About the project
This picture-perfect fisherman’s cottage is located in the heart of Port Isaac, home to ITV’s Doc Martin and the world-famous Fisherman’s friends. The brief for Hillside Cottage was to create a holiday home full of joy, and a total escape from reality. We had to be clever with the space, as it needed to sleep 6, so we played with the configuration of the rooms to incorporate bespoke carpentry, creating cabin beds and clever storage.
The cottage is full of colour and pattern with a coastal feel. It has made many headlines for breaking the stereotypical Cornish décor rules, with its tropical colours and brave use of pattern.
Hillside Cottage has graced the front cover and been featured in numerous magazines including Coast Magazine, Drift Cornwall and Cornwall Today.
Hillside Cottage was featured in ‘The Times’ calling it one of the UK’s dreamiest UK Staycations.
